Schwinn SmartStart aluminum kids frame with rigid fork offers a more narrow, kid-specific Q-factor, kid-specific saddle and a slack seat tube angle that allows both leg extension and reach to grow with the child as the saddle is raised. Schwinn® kids’ grips and pedals are specifically designed to fit small hands and feet while included training wheels help beginner riders start their first biking adventures.
I bought the 2010 model for my son...He liked the paint scheme, and I wanted a bile that would last! The bike is solid, and worked well with training wheels. When my son was ready to ditch the training wheels this bike stood up to the challenge. It might have a few dings and scrapes from him learning to ride, but it works 100% We've even hit some rail trails with and without training wheels and the bike performed very well. I replaced the stock saddle (plastic-vinyl) for one with a bit more grip. Stock saddle would be slick with certain fabrics. Much better than any "big box" 1st bike.
Bottom LineYes, I would recommend this to a friend
